What it is
The RAK Centre for Reconciliation and Commercial Arbitration is the arbitration institution operating under the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce. RAK has its own independent court system (separate from the federal courts that handle Ajman, UAQ, Fujairah) and the RAK Centre handles arbitration for RAK-domiciled commercial counterparties.
Why RAK arbitration matters
RAK is home to the RAK ICC (RAK International Corporate Centre) offshore-company regime and significant manufacturing, hospitality and tourism investment. Disputes arising from these sectors — particularly mid-market commercial disputes where DIAC fee architecture is disproportionate — frequently arbitrate at the RAK Centre. Cost-effective for mid-market disputes; awards internationally enforceable under the New York Convention.
